Middlesex Savings Charitable Foundation announced its donation of $330,256 to 18 local nonprofits through its annual grant making program.
The donations are part of the Foundation's annual grant making program, which formally awards grants twice a year. Since 2000, the Middlesex Savings Charitable Foundation has made grants to hundreds of nonprofits that support programs within the bank's marketplace. The donations have helped fund food security initiatives, veterans' services, and a plethora of programs that support at-risk families and individuals. To date, the Foundation has provided more than $15 million in grants to nonprofits providing critical community services.
“Project Just Because of Hopkinton is profoundly grateful for the support of the Middlesex Savings Charitable Foundation in our efforts to provide clothing, bedding, and personal hygiene products for the most vulnerable members of Metrowest communities,” said Cherylann Lambert Walsh, president and founder of Project Just Because, Inc. “Because of this generous grant, hundreds of individuals and families including children and the elderly will have access to basic necessities to enable them to participate in camp, school, sports, work and in the community. The support from Middlesex will have a positive impact on the quality of life in our neighborhoods and help us make a difference in the lives of those in our community.”
The 18 grant recipients represent a broad range of nonprofit organizations throughout the bank's community:
"Hope & Comfort would like to thank Middlesex Savings Charitable Foundation for generously supporting our work to ensure sustained access to hygiene products - such as soap, toothbrushes, toothpaste, deodorant, shampoo, menstrual products, and more - to support the health, dignity, and confidence of children and adults in need in Massachusetts," said Kerry Carter, CEO of Hope & Comfort. "Hygiene insecurity is a hidden crisis in our state with millions of people impacted. This grant will help us distribute well over 2 million hygiene products through our network of community health centers, public schools, hunger relief organizations, community colleges, human service agencies, and many more. Supporters like Middlesex Savings Bank make our work possible.”
