Middlesex Savings Bank was founded with the purpose of supporting the community, a commitment that we continue to uphold over 190 years later. One of the ways we show this support is through the Middlesex Savings Charitable Foundation, our nonprofit, private charitable foundation which awards grants to local nonprofit organizations twice a year.
This spring, the Foundation awarded $486,562 to 37 local nonprofits that are providing essential human services. The nonprofits represent a variety of services, including improving food access, providing educational opportunities, and raising the standard of living for vulnerable individuals and families right here in eastern Massachusetts.
The Medway Food Pantry was one of this spring’s grant recipients, and they plan to use the funding to convert their two separate pantries into one permanent location, according to Susan Dietrich, the executive director.
“This funding will help us create a single, dedicated home for the Medway Food Pantry, bringing together Medway’s two pantry operations in one market-style location where people can choose the groceries and other items that best meet their needs. For the individuals and families who rely on us, this new space will mean more reliable access to nutritious food, fresh produce, household essentials, and compassionate support in a welcoming environment,” said Dietrich. “We are proud to have the Middlesex Savings Charitable Foundation as a partner in making this vision possible."
