Middlesex Savings Charitable Foundation, the nonprofit, private charitable foundation established by Middlesex Savings Bank, awarded a total of $330,079 to 22 nonprofit organizations based in Eastern and Central Massachusetts durings its first wave of annual grantmaking.
Five organizations are first-time Foundation grant recipients – Boston Area Gleaners, Circle of Hope, Daniel J. McCarthy Memorial Fund, Science from Scientists, and SPARK Kindness.
Dedicated to supporting a broad range of community needs, the Foundation remains committed to three core areas– educational opportunities, basic human needs, and non-profit capacity building. Since its inception, the Foundation has provided more than $4 million in grants to more than 400 nonprofits.
In addition to its principal grant-making programs, the Foundation also provides annual scholarship support to college-bound high school seniors. To date, it has helped hundreds of high school seniors with over $450,000 in scholarship awards, including the annual A. James Lavoie Scholarship.
