This year the Foundation awarded nearly $800,000 to 48 non-profit organizations based in Eastern and Central Massachusetts. Forty five were honored at the Foundation’s annual grant awards ceremony held Friday, November 2, 2018 at the Sheraton Framingham Hotel & Conference Center. Eight organizations are first-time Foundation grant recipients – ACCEPT Education Collaborative (Natick); Clear Path for Veterans, Inc. (Devens); Historic New England (Boston); Hope and Comfort (Newton); New England Center and Home for Veterans (Boston); Read to a Child (Wellesley); Sudbury Valley Trustees (Sudbury); and Westborough Athletic Boosters Association (Westborough).
Each of the organizations receiving a grant provides critical community services to the communities served by Middlesex Savings Bank.
In addition to the 45 non-profit organizations that benefited from the annual grant making program, the Foundation also distributed an additional $48,000 in proactive grant funding. These funds were distributed to organizations in instances where the Foundation felt strongly that there was a particular or urgent need in the community to support.
Dana Neshe, president of the Middlesex Savings Charitable Foundation, notes, “Good citizenship is grounded in community service and improving the lives of our neighbors. Our grant recipients work tirelessly to make a difference in their communities. We proudly support their efforts and believe our financial gifts help extend the tremendous work they undertake.”
