Charitable Foundation
Middlesex Savings Charitable Foundation, incorporated in October 2000, is a nonprofit, private charitable foundation organized to further carry out the philanthropic mission of Middlesex Savings Bank. The Foundation was established to ensure the ability to fund eligible organizations in the Bank's market area in any economic environment. Giving back to the communities we serve is a privilege and an obligation that we take very seriously. Supported by Middlesex Savings Bank, the Middlesex Savings Charitable Foundation provides grants to organizations located within the Bank's CRA market area. Middlesex Savings Bank initially provided $2 million on an endowment basis and continues to add to the endowment annually. As of December 2008, the endowment totaled $5.3 million. The Foundation now operates three philanthropic programs:

2010 A. James lavoie scholarship
We are pleased to announce the fourth annual $5,000 A. James Lavoie Essay Contest Scholarship. We invite all graduating seniors from our community who meet the following criteria to apply.
Scholarship Applicant Criteria
Eligible scholarship applicants must:
- Be a senior graduating from one of 28 area public or vocational high schools
- Show plans to attend a four-year college program
- Present evidence of good academic standing
- Exhibit active involvement in the community
- Demonstrate financial need
- Submit a written essay and scholarship information

All materials must be received by March 31, 2010 to be eligible for consideration. The winner will be announced on or after May 3, 2010.
