Charitable Foundation
Since June 2000 the Foundation has provided more than $2 million in grants to over 150 non-profit organizations providing critical community services throughout Eastern and Central Massachusetts.
Established as a nonprofit, private charitable foundation to further carry out the philanthropic mission of Middlesex Savings Bank, the Foundation aims to fund eligible organizations in the Bank's CRA market area in any economic environment. Middlesex Savings Bank initially provided $2 million on an endowment basis, and continues to add to the endowment annually. As of October 2011, the endowment now totals $6.7 million. The Foundation currently provides annual scholarship support to college bound seniors in addition to its principle grant-making philanthropic programs.
Please note: Given the continuing economic challenges faced by our communities, in 2012 the Board will be focusing upon, and giving preference to, grant submissions from organizations providing basic human services such as food and shelter.
Please note that you can also access the on-line application by clicking on any of the grant programs listed above.
